Second Announcement


The main goal of the Meetings on Computer Algebra and Applications (EACA) is to provide a forum for researchers from Computer Algebra and researchers that essentially use these techniques in their investigation. EACA-99 is the fifth EACA meeting, following events in Santander (1995), Sevilla (1996), Granada (1997) and Sigüenza (1998). As in previous events, participation of young researchers is specially encouraged.


Topics of interest are: effective Methods in Algebra, Analisys, Geometry and Topology. algorithm complexity, scientific computation via symbolic-numerical methods, applications to Science and Technology, development of nymbolic and numerical softwares.

Participation and Contribution

Everybody interested in the topics of the meeting is warmly invited to attend. Participants willing to give a talk should submit a complete version of their papre of no more than 10 pages or an abstract of more than 3 pages before May 31, 1999. Submissions should report on a recent research work. Authors should send by e-mail to:


their LATEX file that must follow the format described in the template file muestra.tex, available by sending an e-mail message to the previous address.

Authors will be notified of acceptance of their talk by July 15, 1999 and will be asked for the final version of their paper or abstract. Each participant will receive a copy of the Conference Proceedings that will include the final version of all accepted contributions.

Plenary Lectures


The registration fee is 15.000 pesetas (about $ 100) and includes a copy of the Conference Proceedings, a half-a-day touristic trip, and the Conference Dinner. Payments must be made before May 31, 1999 by bank transfer without charge to the beneficiary to:

Location and Accommodation

The Meeting will take place in the Hotel Taburiente, located in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, C/ Dr. J. Naveiras 24-A (see map, 290KB). Accommodation is available on the Hotel Taburiente where special have been negotiated by the organizers. There are two zones in the hotel: the blue zone (quietest) and the green one (more modern and with air-conditioned). The following prices are prices per night and per person including taxes, breakfast and lunch:

Access to Santa Cruz de Tenerife

Spanish airlines Air Europa, Iberia and Spanair have regular flights from several spanish cities to both airports in Tenerife, North-Tenerife and South-Tenerife, 13 kms and 55 kms far from Santa Cruz respectively. It is strongly recommended to ask for the specific discounts of each company to your travel agency.
